We are one night removed from a night that not only saw an endurance record set in the Royal Rumble match, we were given the creation of a new term from Dave Scherer. That word is ‘Ortoned’, which happened to Edge after his ‘long’ (relative to Rhino’s NWA World Title reign) three week title reign when John Cena became a two-time WWE Champion. Will Edge be able to rehab his ‘Ortoning’ tonight by winning the WWE Title back from John Cena? What will happen with the Cruiserweight Title now that Gregory Helms is the only acknowledged Cruiserweight on the Raw roster? What will happen in the next chapter in the ‘Mickie loves Trish . . . but does Trish love Mickie . . . or know what is going on in this angle’? Will Tatanka or Goldust make it two nights in a row or will they be a one night deal or will they be seen on Friday night? How will the Orlando crowd react to WWE action since tonight’s show will be ten miles from where TNA tapes their shows? Which member of the McMahon family will get to ‘screw’ Shawn Michaels tonight since Shane has joined Vince in making Shawn’s life miserable?
Edge and Lita are in the back and he says that what happened last night at the Royal Rumble was a fluke. He was not supposed to lose the WWE title to John Cena. In the course of WWE history, it will not be remembered. He will not wait until Wrestlemania or Saturday Night’s Main Event. He will invoke his rematch clause tonight. He will not be a transitional champion. He will beat John Cena within an inch of his life. He will take back what is rightfully his, the WWE Championship.
We are live from Orlando, Florida and your announcers are Joey ‘Mickey’ Styles; Jonathan ‘Goofy’ Coachman; and Jerry ‘Pluto’ Lawler.
