As reported in great detail in Monday's "Keller VIP Audio Update" and in Tuesday morning's new Torch Newsletter, JBL and Blue Meanie wasn't the only real conflict between two people at the ECW PPV. Francine and Dawn Marie also got into it.
When Dawn Marie arrived, she was greeting a number of people backstage. When she got to Francine, she felt Francine was disrespectful - stemming back to their personality clashes back in their ECW days. At that point, Dawn told Francine, "It's good to see you're as pleasant as ever, bitch!"
As reported Monday in the Audio Update, Marie had told people had she not been pregnant, there probably would have been a fight.
In response to our reports earlier this week, Francine emailed the Torch with her version of the story. "Dawn came over to where myself and others were standing," says Francine. "She said 'hi' to me and I extended my hand and shook her hand and said 'how are you' to her. She then said, 'I see you are as pleasant as ever,' rolled her eyes, and walked away. I ignored the last comment as to not start a war. I did not disrespect her in any way. We are not friends but I did shake her hand because it was the right thing to do. If she called me a bitch, I didn't hear it. Just thought I'd clear that up. Thank you."
The incident actually triggered Vince McMahon telling the wrestlers at the preshow meetings to keep everything professional and put any personal issues aside for the night.
