I just got home from the William Regal book signing in Forbidden Planet London. He looked huge while standing up, when I got close to him and he was sitting, his upperbody didnt seem that big. He was nice, shook his hand, he had a mean grip, got my signed book.
I asked him if the story of him knocking out Van Hammer was true. He said it was and I asked if it was because he was slagging off English wrestling, and he said that part wasn't true. The reason he knocked him out, was because he was slagging off Regal himself. So I said "nice one, what did you do, give him the old Glasgow kiss?" and he said "Yeah that's what I did, and if you see any pictures of him since then, you can still see the big scar on his upper lip." I said, "Good job, nice to meet you, etc."
The dude from the shop then asked if I wanted my picture taken with him, which I turned down. My brother then asked Regal if he describes the taste of Vince McMahon's a** in his book, referring to the "Vince McMahon Kiss My A** Club" angle. Regal said he couldn't actually taste Vince's a** at the time, because of the amount of lip-balm he had on his lips.
Overall, the turnout wasn't very big, not even a quarter of what Mick Foley had for his Tietam Brown signing awhile back, but Regal seemed a nice guy, even agreed to talk to someone's friend on the phone.
