KMOL, the NBC affiliate in San Antonio, TX, is reporting that Stone Cold Steve Austin has been "arrested on charges of spousal abuse". The charges stem from the June 15 incident where police were called to Austin's home after an alleged altercation with his wife Debra. At the time, Debra claimed that her husband punched her in the face and back when she called police. Austin fled the home before police arrived that day. According to KMOL, the pending charge is a class A misdemeanor assault. He could get up to a year in prison if convicted and/or pay a $4,000 fine. The report said that Austin is "expected to spend very little if any time in jail."

The San Antonio Express News has also posted a story on the arrest today of Steve Austin. The only new items from the story are as follows.
Austin turned himself into authorities today. He came to the court house with his lawyers. He was charged with an assault that caused a bodily injury, was booked and fingerprinted before posting his bond.
A judge signed off on the arrest warrant on Monday after he read the police report and a complaint filed by Austin's wife Debra. It appears that the district attorney's office pursued the case on their own.
