---- Police were called to the home of WWE superstar Steve Williams, better known to most as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin from World Wrestling Entertainment last night.
Apparently Austin had attacked his wife Debra, but was not at the house when police arrived at approximately 4:00am.
Debra had a welt under her eye and bruises on her shoulder and back. She said things like this has happened before, but she was reluctant to call police due to Austin's celebrity status ----
omg, when I first skimmed it, I thought it said somebody had attacked Debra and Austin wasn't there. But I can't believe he hit her!

I am so saddened that he could do such a thing- poor Debra. When i read it i thought it was a joke- but then i realised it was true after i went from website to website. Vince McMahon said that Stone Cold is not welcome to come back to the WWE ever- i think that Debra should have pressed charges against him.

I read today on prowrestling that Austin was followed by a helicopter! (they must have really wanted to arrest him) Also in the links at the bottom of the articles it says that he is returning to the WWE! That can't be right surely- Vince said the other day that he is not welcome to come back. Has anyone read anything different?

I'm sorry but he shouldn't be allowed back if you ask me!

When I first read about Austin being fired, I can't say I was really bothered as Austin's act wasn't and didn't look as though it could go anywhere further. But when I read about Austin attacking Debra I hoped it wasn't true, but hoped that no-one had made it up as I think it's just sick to make up something like that.
I think there is something on TheSmokingGun.com about it, I'll go and find the link..

I don't always agree with them putting reports like that up on the net. But I had looked upto Steve [and all the other wrestlers] and if he has hit Debra before then I would want to know, because I'm so against it as I know someone who was abused, also some of my idols have been hit etc. at sometime in their lives (Jonathon Davis, Vince..).
Anyway, I'll shut up before I go completely off topic. ;)

I can't really say anything that hasn't been said before, but I've lost sooo much respect for Steve. I would've never thought he would hit Debra.

More information has been bought to light on prowrestling.com. I do not have the link but basically it said that Steve wanted to start a family but Debra refused because she doesn't want to lose her figure and then he snapped. It also says that Debra has told Steve not to quit wrestling or she will leave him- i wonder what this means?

I can understand him getting upset, but hitting Debra and then refusing to return when the cops had gone to the house. Also I think on WrestlingPlanet.com you can watch the footage that was aired on Extra (US show..thing.) of the helicopter following Steve wherever he went for awhile.

That was no reason to hit her- plus he already has 2 daughters. I can't believe that some websites are showing the photos, police statement and the footage of him being chased. Surely he could sue them?

Surely he could sue them? Somebody probably could if the footage is used without permission, unless it's one of those file/footage etc. things that can be used because they "belong to the public". I hope that makes sense lol! Whether just Steve could I'm not sure. I can see why they're putting up some proof though, wrestlers are looked upto by millions of people, alot of those are youth. I know that if I was one of the younger fans, a parent of younger fans or just a fan fullstop, I'd want to know if it was true or not. But I think some of the stuff that's being put up on sites is taking it a 'lil too far. I think it's wrong that alot of sites are adding them just for hits though.

According to KMOL, the NBC TV affiliate in San Antonio, TX, Steve Williams (Austin) has been arrested on charges of spousal abuse. The charges stem from an alleged incident on June 15th. Mr. Williams has been released on his own recognizance. At this time, World Wrestling Entertainment has no further information on this story. Steve Williams is currently not a member of the active roster. WWE wishes Steve and his wife Debra the best during this difficult time.
