Vince McMahon and Steve Austin have already been in contact regarding a possible deal to bring Austin back to the company. Split over the issue of rights to the "Stone Cold" name, many feel that Austin's high-powered attorney got in the way of potential negotiations, which forced the two sides to part ways.
While many were expecting Austin to sign a deal to work for Dreamstage Entertainment, nothing has materialized yet. Additionally, the much-anticipated Austin vs. Goldberg match has also not been signed to any foreign promotion.
McMahon's opinion regarding Austin and the need for a return literally changes by the hour. He's been leaning towards bringing Austin back lately, since ratings have been down, however, when Jericho mentioned Austin's name in a recent promo, and the crowd was dead-silent, McMahon felt reassured that WWE doesn't NEED Austin at this point.
The Austin/WWE situation should be an interesting one to follow, and you can be sure this website will provide continuous coverage of the situation.
