Vince McMahon held a huge meeting backstage with the SmackDown! talent yesterday before the tapings. The same exact thing that was said at the RAW meeting was repeated again at SmackDown!. Vince referred to us as "Internet critics" and the "dirtsheets". Vince said what was going on absolutely disgusted him and said that if he finds out who is talking to the people on the internet, he will (and this is a quote), "fire them on the spot".
Brock Lesnar spoke up at the meeting and backed up Vince. He told a story about how he was recently doing and interview and some questions about future booking plans were asked. Brock stood right behind Vince and joked that "If I see anybody on the Internet, I'll kill them." which got a laugh from the crew and us, of course!
The wrestlers were also critiqued during the meeting, with some feeling it is less about being critiqued and more about being "publicly humiliated" in front of their peers. There were even some members of management that didn't agree with the idea of criticizing wrestlers in front of the others at first are now doing so openly.
Needless to say, a lot of the talent is not looking forward to these meetings being a weekly occurrence.
