Special Holiday Edition of WWE SmackDown!™ to Air at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 25 on UPN
STAMFORD, Conn., Dec. 22, 2003 –The video from the holiday visit by Vince McMahon™ and the WWE Superstars to the troops fighting in Iraq is available for the media by contacting WWE. It can also be viewed at WWE.com. The video is from a special holiday edition of WWE SmackDown! that will be shown on Christmas at 8 p.m. on UPN.
From Thursday, Dec. 18, to Saturday, Dec. 20, the WWE Superstars visited troops in Iraq. The WWE Superstars had a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see our fighting men and women first hand, to visit with them at various locations in and around Baghdad, eat with them, and hear their stories about fighting and living in Iraq. The finale of the tour was a special performance of WWE SmackDown! before more than 5,000 troops at Camp Victory in Baghdad.
Video highlights include event footage of Vince McMahon welcoming the troops and other Superstars performing before the troops, as well as some of the personal moments the Superstars experienced with members of our fighting forces in Iraq.
Reaction to the tour from the troops has been overwhelming. Many family members of troops who met the Superstars have written to express their gratitude to the WWE Superstars for visiting their loved ones in the military.
