Report from WWE/USO Press Conference at Lax Hilton

W-O Newsletter reader Jacob L attended the press conference at the LAX Hilton on Tuesday when WWE announced their plans for Iraq and sent in these notes. Around 70 people where in attendance with Linda McMahon doing rounds talking to fans waiting for the conference to star. USO Directors from LA and the East Coast opened the show and then introduce 2 US Marines, tons of US Army soldiers and the WWE Superstars. Each Superstar spoke of how special the Iraq will be to them. Big Show was pretty funny, joking the whole time, asking Vince if the care packages contained any food which Vice replied "no". Sable spoke asking fans to donate $25 at troops.wwe.com so they can take it with them. Vince McMahon took the stand and said that all Superstars who are making the trip will be performing for the troops in a special edition of Smackdown! Several soldiers who were there asked questions afterwards, received hugs from the girls...and one even from Vince McMahon! UPN and WWE camera crew where on the scene to cover the event.
